my skin doesn't fit
NaPoWriMo 2017 (Year 2, Poem 21 of 20)
April 21, 2017
my skin doesn't fit me-
or maybe i don't fit my skin.
each time i behold my reflection
i see a stranger, a foreinger staring back
with sad eyes that seem to sigh wearily,
"i'm lost, can you point me home?"
my skin doesn't fit.
i've outgrown it;
it doesn't sit right.
i'm a patchwork of body parts
stitched and sewn together.
i'm coming undone at the seams,
nothing is what it seems.
my skin is loose,
perhaps i am molting...
could this be my metamorphosis?
